Choc - Raspberry Smoothie
Everyone needs a good chocolatey smoothie as part of their repertoire, and this one hits the spot for me. If you haven't tried avocado in a smoothie before, you're going to be impressed by the thick creamy texture it adds (and if your kids don't like avocado I promise you can't taste it in this smoothie 😉 ). Even though this smoothie contains no cherries, the flavour is a little like a cherry-ripe for me!
Raspberries are one of my favourite fruits to include in a smoothie because they are absolutely packed full of fibre. As I told you last week they have a whopping 8g of fibre per cup, that's over 40% of a 4-8 yr old's needs! 1/2 an avocado contains another 5g of fibre, making this smoothie a fibre bomb (and we haven't even considered the oats or dates yet!). Of course avocados are also a great source of healthy fats, folate and vitamin C to name but a few.Â
Happy smoothie making and remember to let me know what you think of this smoothie by tagging me on instagram @nudie_rudie_lunchbox !
