The dimensions of the largest section of our 5 compartment lunch box are approx. 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm. It will fit a sandwich made from a "traditional" sized loaf of bread - eg the type you might buy in house from the Coles or Woolworths bakery. It does not fit larger sized loaves of bread like Helgas or Wonder White without cutting off the crusts.

Silicone can stain when it comes into contact with highly coloured foods, such as tomato-based sauces, watermelon, berries or carrot. These stains will often fade naturally over time, or you can follow our Deep Cleaning Silicone guide above for more stubborn stains.

Staining is cosmetic only and won’t affect the performance or durability of the silicone.

Before putting away make sure your lunch box is completely dry. We recommend storing your lunch box with the seal out. This is to avoid a build up of any food smells.

We’ve designed our lunch boxes to be tough, durable and ready for everyday school life. With regular use, stainless steel may develop scratches or small dents, while silicone can temporarily stain from highly coloured foods. These stains will often fade over time, or you can follow our silicone deep-cleaning guide for more stubborn stains. These cosmetic changes are a normal part of everyday use and won’t affect the performance of your lunch box.

Our lunch boxes are completely dishwasher safe. All components (silicone and stainless steel) can be washed this way. They are also suitable for hand washing.

We think our lunch boxes are suitable for a wide range of ages from little ones all the way up to adults.

Our five compartment lunch box is suitable from around 4+years of age. The clasp is firmer but generally manageable for young children once shown how to open and close it.

Consider the suitability of this product for your child, as a small family run business, we are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for a change of mind. 

Use our range of reusable lunch box stickers to personalise and label your stainless steel lunch boxes. Our reusable name tag stickers can be written on with permanent marker; however, the writing may fade with repeated washing and may need to be refreshed from time to time.

Our stainless steel lunch boxes can also be labelled with vinyl name labels, or you may like to check with your local engraver about having your child’s name permanently engraved.

Our lunchboxes are crafted from high-grade 304 food-safe stainless steel and have been independently tested to meet FDA food safety standards. We use 100% pure silicone, also independently tested and LFGB certified—the highest standard for food-safe silicone products.

Silicone can absorb odors from scented dishwashing liquids or tablets. To prevent this, we recommend using fragrance-free dishwashing liquids or tablets, often labeled as "eco products" and available at most supermarkets. If your silicone products develop a soapy smell or taste, try one of the following deep cleaning methods:

Deep Cleaning Silicone:

1. Vinegar + Baking Soda

  • Mix equal parts hot water and vinegar in a sink or bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda (it should fizz).
  • Let the silicone soak for a few hours or overnight.
  • Rinse and dry. Repeat if needed.

2. Boil in Water + Vinegar

  • Fill a pot with 3/4 water and 1/4 vinegar (enough to cover the silicone).
  • Boil for 10-15 minutes, then rinse and dry.

I absolutely love my Nudie Rudie lunch boxes! The products are great quality and have quickly become a favourite in our house.

I did have a slight issue with one of my lunch boxes, but the customer service team were absolutely amazing. Sturdy and high quality material

Love the design and sturdy material. Best part is chucking these into the dishwasher without worrying about the material degrading or microplastics leaking into their food. While the 5 compartment is nice for packing a variety of food it doesn’t quite fit inside the insulated lunchbox that my daughter has been using and is also a bit too much food if I were to fill out the space but the 2 compartment lunch box fits nicely and I use the snacker pots or the silicone cups from the sandwich pod to make more “compartments”. Together with the snack buddy for her morning tea they fit nicely in her lunch box and is a good size for how much she currently eats as a kindy student. Maybe the 5 compartment box would be better for her once she’s in year 3 or older.

Pretty good overall, snack box very small

The lunchbox is awesome, a bit on the heavy side but good otherwise, contents don’t get mixed up between compartments which is great. The snack box on the other hand, although no leaks so far, it is very small, and it’s for my 16month old son, definitely would not work for a kinder toddler… I need something bigger..

0/5 Imagine designing a lunchbox that doesn’t fit a sandwich… It also won’t fit crackers, or any fruit that isn’t finely diced. It’s all well and good posting 50 sandwich ideas but you can’t actually use them.

The largest compartment measures approximately 10.5 cm × 10.5 cm and was designed to fit sandwiches made with a traditional bakery-style loaf (such as the in-store Coles or Woolworths bakery bread). Larger commercial loaves, such as Helga's or Wonder White, will generally require the crusts to be removed or the sandwich to be cut differently to fit. We do outline this in the sizing information and FAQs on the product page.

Many families pack larger sandwiches by removing the crusts, cutting them into smaller pieces to overlap, or using wraps instead. The lunch box is also designed to encourage a variety of foods, with room for a sandwich alongside fruit, vegetables and other snacks, rather than one large sandwich taking up the entire box.

A lunchbox that works

My little girl has struggled with eating from her lunchbox when she started at school. We had tried various other options and configurations. I bit the bullet and ordered the nudie rudie (had held off due to price and not being sure it would work either). Whilst she still isn’t eating lots, she has started eating at school. She has said it’s easy to see what’s on offer. It’s working and that’s great for us!

I ordered 3 of the 5 compartment lunch boxes for my 5, 3 and 1 year old. My eldest is in Kindy or (prep) depending on where you are and its perfect for her at school. I had a different stainless steel brand for her but the food would leak into other compartments. So pleased that each section in these is leak proof! No more lunch box messes or soggy food. She absolutely loves it too. I purchased the one for my sons who are 3 and 15 months old just to meal prep for them each day so im not constantly going to the fridge for their lunch and snacks and its been great! My 3 year old was constantly going to the fridge or asking me for food but now he proudly carries his lunch box around and eats from that when he is hungry. They are also super easy to open and close, i wasn't sure what they would be like as i read reviews about them being difficult to open but even my 3 year old has no issues. They also fit perfectly in their The Somewhere Co lunch bags. I wasn't hesitant to spend this much on lunch boxes but im so happy I did. The quality and functionality of them are great and my kids love them.

The BEST!

They last forever, they clean (and more importantly) dry easily and they're just nice to use. Easily the best product on the market. If you can, buy 2 per child and cycle them through so you don't have to wash before packing lunches, it's a little win.
