FAQs
Our insulated food jar uses advanced vacuum wall technology to keep your food at the right
temperature. Here are some tips for the best performance:
For Hot Foods:
1. Preheat the jar by filling it with boiling water for 10 minutes, then empty it.
2. Heat your food until piping hot (hotter than if you were serving it immediately).
3. Quickly transfer the hot food into the preheated jar and secure the lid.
For Cold Foods:
1. Pre-chill the jar by placing it in the freezer for 10 minutes or filling it with ice water for 10
minutes, then empty it.
2. Transfer your cold food into the pre-chilled jar and secure the lid.
Performance:
- Hot: Keeps food warm for 4 hours
- Cold: Keeps food cold for 6 hours
- Consider if this is sufficient to meet the need of your child.
This food jar comes included with our Hot n Cold Hero Box and fits perfectly in the square compartment with the rounded dome.
Please note: This listing is for the food jar only. It does not fit inside our five- or two- compartment lunchboxes due to its height.
Not using one of our lunch boxes? That's cool, this food jar fits into other popular lunch boxes on the market including the B.Box Large and Montii Co Feast lunch box.
1. Empty leftover food.
2. Remove the lid and carefully peel off the silicone seal (see video above demonstrating how to
do this). Wash all parts in the dishwasher. Also safe for hand washing.
3. Reattach the silicone seal by pressing it down and rolling it over the jar’s inner rim.
Tip: Use fragrance-free dishwashing liquids or tablets to avoid leaving a taste on the silicone.
Yes, silicone can stain when exposed to highly coloured foods like pumpkin soup, watermelon, or
tomato. These stains usually fade over time.
Store your products dry, with the lids off/open and the silicone seal is best left out until use, to prevent any food smells from building up.
Our lunch boxes and food jars are tough and durable, but scratches and dents may occur over time. Silicone may also stain as mentioned above.
The flip-top latch is easy for children aged 3-4 years and older. We recommend practicing with
your child to ensure they can open and close it comfortably before use.
Tip:
The food jar's locking mechanism is simple to use, but temperature changes between the environment and its contents can occasionally create a vacuum seal—something common to all insulated food jars.
To prevent this, we've added two small steam-release holes. If a vacuum forms:
1. Keep the handle upright, flip the jar over, and give the bottom a firm tap.
2. Let it sit upright for a few minutes to allow pressure to release, then try again.
For more stubborn vacuums, place the jar in cold water or the freezer for a few minutes to break the seal.
Use vinyl stickers directly on the outer surface of food jar.
Whilst our food jar does not come with its own cutlery, we recommend that you use one of our insulated lunch bags to house extras. Both our Junior range and neoprene range include a pocket for cutlery or napkins etc
