Quick & Easy Tuna Lunch Mix
High in protein, heart-healthy fats & flavour-packed
If you're a tuna lover (or just looking to add more lean protein to your diet), this simple tuna mix needs a spot in your lunch rotation. As a dietitian, I love tuna for its convenience, affordability, and nutritional punch—it's rich in protein, omega-3s, and makes a satisfying base for a balanced lunch.
There are endless ways to make a tuna mix (you'll find a few variations on our site!), but this one’s a staple: fresh, flavourful, and ready in minutes.
Perfect for work lunches:
Pack it in our 2-compartment stainless steel lunchbox—tuna mix on one side, crackers on the other—to keep everything crisp and mess-free.
🧂 Ingredients (Serves 1):
-
2 x 95g tins tuna in spring water, drained
-
2 tbsp tinned corn kernels, rinsed and drained
-
1 baby cucumber, finely diced
-
¼ avocado, diced
-
3 thin slices red onion, finely diced
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
-
~⅓ cup mayonnaise (or swap in Greek yoghurt, or use half-half for a lighter option)
-
1 tsp Dijon mustard
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
🥣 Directions:
-
Add all ingredients to a bowl.
-
Stir well to combine.
-
Spoon onto your favourite crispbread (try multigrain corn thins, Vita-Weats, or Ryvitas).
Bonus idea: Use it to fill a ciabatta roll with cheddar and rocket or baby spinach—then toast until golden. So good!
