Christmas Spritzer for Kids
For me, a must have Christmas drink is a Spritzer. It always brings a bit of glamour and wow to Christmas lunch and being fairly light and refreshing it's perfect for our hot Aussie Summer.
Now for the adults you'll usually find me whipping up some combination of Aperol grapefruit juice and soda water. The kids don't need to miss out on the action though. You can make them their own fancy non alcoholic spritz and that will get the same "oos" and "ahs" as the adult version.
Safe to say you don't want to give the kids your best champagne glasses (or no champagne glass at all if their really young and you know that it's likely to go to ground).
Enjoy and don't forget to tag me in your creations @nudie_rudie_lunchbox

Kid's Christmas Spritzer
To decorate the glasses:
honey (or mix a small amount of icing sugar with water to form a paste)
gold and silver sprinkles
For the Spritzer
Seeds of 1 pomegranate
No added sugar Apple Juice (I like the Nippys brand here in Australia)
Soda water
Directions:
Begin by either mixing up your icing sugar paste in a small bowl or alternatively place a reasonable amount of honey in a bowl. Keep in mind that if the day is hot, honey is more prone to sliding down the side of the glass (not that the kids will mind, you know they'll be licking it off regardless!).
Add 1 tsp of pomegranate seeds to the bottom of each glass. Fill the glass with 1/3 apple juice and top up with soda water.
Give it a quick swirl with the straw and get the kids to come running. I know they'll just love getting their own fancy drinks on Christmas Day.
